Taranaki Official of the Year
Joint winners Fiona Jansma (left) and Stacey Kennard
Fiona Jansma
Stratford Flyers Swimming Club
Fiona’s involvement started in Club Night timekeeping. She has been involved in local club and school meets as well as local carnivals. Her confidence and willingness to be involved has allowed her to progress through the Stratford Flyers Club. She put herself forward to learn the official role of IOT. She then went into learning the role of JOS and has been a great help. Fiona has also helped at away meets such as AIMS games as an IOT and JOS. She started out helping with The Stratford Flyers committee and is now the newly appointed Club President. Fiona has the grit to put swimmers first, make sure they are treated fairly and have every opportunity to progress in the sport of swimming.
Stacey Kennard
Aquabladz Swimming Club
Learning to become a JOS, Stacey has always put herself forward to help at meets, not only as an official but also a parent help, timekeeper and team manager. She is an IOT each time there is a meet and is willing to help in other roles such as fundraising, meets and transporting swimmers around venues. She has an extensive technical knowledge of swimming and shares invaluable information and support to all - particularly new members of the club.
